Season Premiere: Volunteer Kickoff

You are cordially invited to attend MMPI’s Season Premiere! Join us for MMPI's Volunteer Kick Off on Thursday, August 19, 2010, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Embassy Suites Detroit-Livonia/Novi, featuring excitement, movie trivia, and theatrical surprises! You will be our red carpet guest as we share with you exciting opportunities for connections and experiences that will take your shining star to the next level! Play in an award winning role. A luncheon and chapter education program will follow the Volunteer Kickoff. Join us for Mary Katherine Quasarano's presentation, The Rewarding Gift of Making Connections.

There are volunteer opportunities to fit everyone's schedule. Whether it's a year-long committee or planning one special event, you can assist with making this another successful year for the Michigan Chapter. Volunteering on MMPI committees is a great way to build your resume, develop stronger and more lasting relationships with other members, and broaden your industry experience and knowledge.  Volunteer Today!

MMPI is looking for committee chairs and volunteers for the following teams.

  • Newsletter – Plans, collects and writes content for MMPI’s quarterly printed newsletter.
  • Marketing – Markets MMPI to the general public through media and advocacy, chapter photography and press releases.
  • Electronic Newsletter – Plans, collects and writes content for MMPI’s monthly electronic newsletter.
  • MMPI Website – Coordinates and regularly monitors Website content and maintains calendar postings on other industry websites.
  • Social Networking – Manages postings and content of MMPI’s social networking sites, encouraging participation and activity on these sites.
  • Chapter Education Programs – Plans content, secures speakers and assists with the promotion and execution of the Chapter Meetings and Education Programs and Webinars (5-8 per year).
  • Annual Education Conference - Plans all content and activities for MMPI’s Annual Education Conference. Secures sponsorships and assists with the promotion and execution of the event.
  • Michigan Event Industry Day - Plans all content and activities for Michigan Event Industry Day. Secures partnering organizations, sponsorships and assists with the promotion and execution of the event.
  • Strategic Alliances – Secure MMPI’s strategic partners to meet budgeted goal, as well as maintain regular contact with the partners to manage use of benefits and ensure partner satisfaction.
  • Fundraising – Coordinate and plan the Chapter’s fundraising efforts as determined by the annual budget and strategic plan. Currently, the Annual Silent Auction is planned by this committee.
  • Advertising – Secure advertising to meet budgeted revenue goals (i.e. Website, electronic and printed newsletters).
  • Member Retention – Responsible for maintaining regular contact with the membership to ensure member satisfaction and to meet or exceed the membership retention goal set by the budget and strategic plan. Committee is also responsible for managing the Ambassador Program for the Chapter.
    Member Growth – Responsible membership recruitment efforts to meet or exceed the membership goal set by the budget and strategic plan.
  • Celebration - Plans content and activities for MMPI’s annual Celebration! event. Secures sponsorships and assists with the promotion and execution of the event.
  • Student Leadership Development – Provides opportunity to engage our student members through organized mentoring and volunteer opportunities for the Chapter.
  • Scholarship/Recognition – Maintains the Chapter’s awards and recognition program to meet the current needs of the Chapter. This committee is also responsible for the scholarship program.
  • Volunteer Development – Recruit and place volunteers for the Chapter, maintains volunteer data base and regular contact with the volunteers to determine level of participation and volunteer satisfaction and engagement.
